How to Sell or Clear Surplus Pallets

How to sort, count and describe surplus pallets so a supplier in the Hamilton area can respond to your request.

Sort What You Have

Separate pallets by size first, then by condition. A mixed heap is harder to assess than sorted stacks, and it gives a supplier less to go on.

Count and Measure

A rough count is enough to start. Measure a sample of each size, and note anything unusual, such as painted, plastic or very large pallets.

Be Honest About Condition

Mention broken boards, rot, oil or chemical staining. Contaminated pallets may need different handling, and a supplier will need to know before arranging a pickup.

Make Pickup Easy

Tell the supplier how the site can be reached and whether you have a forklift or dock. Keep stacks stable and reachable.

Understand the Offer

Depending on size, condition and quantity, a supplier may offer to buy pallets, collect them at no charge, or quote for removal. Ask which applies before you agree to a pickup.

Request a Quote
